Chinese
Tie Guan Yin (Oolong)
Can be young and green or roasted and dark
- Tie Guan Yin: 1-2 tsp
- Water: 150 mL
- Temperature: 75 - 80 deg C
- Steep Time: 10 s
- Increase by 1 - 3s for each subsequent steep
Jasmine (Green tea)
- Tie Guan Yin: 1 tsp
- Water: 150 mL
- Temperature: 75 - 80 deg C
- Steep Time: 15 s
- Increase by 1 - 3s for each subsequent steep
Japanese
Sencha
- Sencha: 1 tsp
- Water: 150 mL
- Temperature: 75 - 80 deg C
- Steep Time: 45 - 60s
- 30 - 40 s for subsequent steeps
- Use strainer if necessary
Gyokuro
- Gyokuro: 1 tsp
- Water: 80 - 100 mL
- Temperature: 60 - 75 deg C
- Steep Time: 45 - 60s
- 30 - 40 s for subsequent steeps
- Use strainer if necessary
Matcha
- Match: 0.5 - 1 tsp
- Water: 100 - 150 mL
- Temperature: 75 - 80 deg C
- Whisk in a matcha bowl with Chasen 30 - 60 s
- TIP: Add a 1 tsp of water first and mix matcha to prevent clumps
